Samuel Mutweleli

What I do:

Lead the development, improvement and quality assurance of competency based curriculum materials, including teaching guides, learner activities, instructional tools, and learning progressions

Ensure assessments are aligned to approved frameworks and that measures are reliable, usable and aligned to competencies

Oversee quality assurance for curriculum and assessment implementation across programmes; conduct field monitoring, gather feedback, produce improvement reports, and collaborate with research teams to integrate evidence into curriculum and assessment updates

Background

With over a decade of specialised experience in educational measurement, curriculum design and assessment systems, I have led major national and regional initiatives such as the ALiVE initiative, developed contextualised assessment tools, and supported competency based reforms across institutions. My previous work as an Educational Psychology lecturer and Regional Manager for ALiVE- Assessment Shift, strengthened my expertise in psychometrics, learning assessment, and evidence driven programme improvement. These experiences naturally shaped my path to my current role as the manager-Curriculum and Assessments, where I am driven to contribute to high quality curriculum, robust assessment frameworks and impactful foundational learning outcomes.

Advice I'd give my 8-year-old self:

"Good choices make a good life."
