Background
Laura Savage is a policy entrepreneur and systems orchestrator driven by the mission of achieving education for all. She is the Executive Director of the International Education Funders Group (IEFG), the largest global network of philanthropic organisations working to advance Sustainable Development Goal 4. She is also a Research Associate at the REAL Centre, University of Cambridge, and an advisor to Greenwood Place. Before joining IEFG, Laura spent 15 years working with governments in aid-recipient and donor countries. Her work focused on strengthening the quality and use of evidence in education and supporting the coordination of development assistance around national education sector plans. Laura is based in Denmark and has lived and worked in Malaysia, Bangladesh and Malawi. She holds a PhD from the University of Cambridge, where her research examined the politics of aid and government ownership in national education reform.
